Victory on the top of Mt. Olympus

Kim, Paul, and I took time in July to hike to the top of Mt. Olympus near Salt Lake City. After spending a cold night at the saddle, we hiked to the top the next morning. As you can see, we achieved victory! Posted by Picasa

Tailgate party with DeSales Lacrosse Team

This was one of the funnest trips we have been on. Bill and I got to go to Pennsylvania with Paul and John in April of 2006 to DeSales University. There, we got to see Ricky and Danny play 3 college-level lacrosse games. I believe this one was after the Alvernia College game. They acually won this game! It was a pretty nice day, weatherwise. Posted by Picasa

These are my grandchildren. Jonah, Mazzy, and Jobe. Aren't they cute? This picture was taken in the Big Cottonwood Canyon, near Salt Lake City, Utah in September, 2006.

New baby Mazzy

When our daughter, Nicole, dropped her two boys off for her appointment with the OB, she said, "I may not be coming home right away. I think I'm in labor!" Sure enough, an hour later I got a call from Nicole saying that she was already dilating, and she was, indeed, in labor. Two hours later I got a call from her husband, Lowry, telling me that they had a new baby girl! Rather than rushing right to the hospital, I waited a few hours, then met Paul, our son, at St. Mark's hospital. I had Jonah, age 4, and Jobe, age 22 months in tow.

I remember that it was a snowy, slippery, cold day, and we parked outside. It was a challenge walking two kids up to the hospital door. We took the elevator up to Nicole's room, and there they were--the new little family--father Lowry, mother Nicole, and baby Mazzy. When they told us her name I had to ask twice. Lowry motioned to the nameplate taped to her acrylic bed. "M-A-Z-Z-Y." Well, I'd never heard that name before, but it has grown on me. Mazzy, who was born with lots of dark hair, is the cutest little thing you ever have see--just like her mom was when she was born. Posted by Picasa
